ABSTRACT

The purpose of environmental monitoring is to assure that the conditions in the area are adequate to protect the process that is being performed. For the critical areas involved in aseptic processing these environmental conditions are very exacting, whereas for support areas they may be less stringent. In order to define exactly what is required, the regulatory bodies have indicated their expectations. The following is a brief review of the current state of the art.
