ABSTRACT
Before we start with the discussion of analyzing microbial contamination hazards in sterile drug product manufacturing, it is worth briefly reviewing what we know about the origin and evolution of microbes to better understand and appreciate the magnitude of efforts required to keep drug products sterile.
