ABSTRACT

Aiming at the specially high uniaxial compressive strength but low tensile strength characteristics of rock mass in certain national defense huge cavern, and engineering demands of complex profile shaping blasting, experimental studies on bilateral cumulative tensile blasting have been carried out. Explosion mechanism, mechanics behaviors and its models are presented in details. Fracture characteristics of rock mass and parameters pertinent to bilateral cumulative tensile blasting have been obtained by basic blasting experiments and numerical simulation. Based on these, bilateral cumulative tensile blasting has been successfully applied on complex profiles shaping blasting, such as rock bench blasting, rock bolt-beam blasting. Good blasting effects have been achieved.
