1. INTRODUCTION
The introduction of Er:YAG lasers has considerably broadened the therapeutic possibilities
for skin disorders. Er:YAG lasers allow an extremely precise but superficial ablation of the
skin with considerably faster healing and reduced side effects compared to the CO2 laser.
