ABSTRACT
General principles of drug development are to conduct experiments and clinical studies which provide the information necessary to assess drug’s safety, efficacy, and dosage adjustments to make in specific population. Having chirality in the drug molecule being developed adds additional challenges which should be resolved. This chapter will provide a brief introduction to chirality and its implications on pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics. Further, regulatory considerations for chiral drugs will also be discussed.
