ABSTRACT
Agriculture first evolved around 10 to 12 millennia ago, in one of the fertile valleys of the Tigris and Euphrates rivers in West Asia. From there it spread to other hydraulic civilizations in the valleys of the Nile, Indus, Yangtze, and other rivers (Hillel, 1991).
