Adding Value to Slavic Electronic Texts: Approaches for Scholars and Librarians

It need hardly be said, and yet bears repeating, that the notion of value has always resided at the center of scholarly research. The concept of peer review has thus guided validation of university faculties, and has also influenced the content of recognized journals and the approval of monographs for publication. This time-honored approach has raised issues for younger scholars-who spend time on the application of technology to research and feel disadvantaged when it comes to review by traditional validation mechanisms-but the need for quality control remains an essential part of the research process.
