ABSTRACT
ABSTRACT: The paper considers the development of assessment of natural hazards and response methods with special reference to flooding, which may be considered as a socio economic hazard rather than a natural one. Set within the context of climate change, the paper considers how current flood risk is assessed and the additional uncertainties that occur when assessing future flood risk The effect of uncertainty on flood risk managemenent measures, including insurance is considered.
