ABSTRACT

Advancement in medical imaging technology has enabled us to easily obtain precise geometry data of pulmonary airways. Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) with such geometry data provides subjectspecific simulation of pulmonary airflow. It would be very helpful for the diagnosis and treatment of respiratory diseases. For example, it can be used to identify airflow features in each patient, and also be applied to designing inhaled drug delivery.
