ABSTRACT

For rice roots from the West-Bengal region, it was already shown by means of μ-SyXRA that As is enriched in the iron (Fe) coatings of the roots (Norra et al. 2005). Enrichments of As at the root surface could also be documented for maize and sunflower in Inner-Mongolia (Neidhardt 2008). For carrot it was shown that the peel contains the highest As content, and peeling reduces As intake by humans.
