ABSTRACT

Few studies, however, have considered the vertical distribution of major and trace elements in the aquifers of the northwestern part of Bangladesh. Such study is required to clarify the secondary geological sources and vertical zonation of As contamination in the Ganges River Delta. The main objectives of this study are to elucidate the distribution of arsenic in core sediments and groundwater so that a suitable zone for extracting arsenic-free groundwater can be located.
