ABSTRACT

A 24-h recall food survey was carried out with a representative sample of the population (aged 18-65) of the fishermen of the Santa Gilla Lagoon and their families (n = 200), considered as the largest consumers of seafood from the lagoon. The interview questionnaire included detailed questions about seafood consumption to determine the amount and frequency of consumption. The personal, dietary, and residential information was also obtained. The survey was carried out by trained interviewers.
