Demand-led innovation (DLI) has become a popular term in recent yearsindeed, there has been an explosion of interest in this and a series of related terms. A demand-led innovation process is understood to involve the deliberate design of innovation activity so that it substantially elicits and uses information about user features, requirements and creative ideas in the course of shaping research, development, design and/or other major aspects of the activity.1
