ABSTRACT
Necrotizing fasciitis (NF) is a rapidly progressive soft tissue infection with widespread fascial necrosis and secondary necrosis of the superficial tissues as a result of vascular occlusion. Bacterial spread along fascial planes is facilitated by bacterial enzymes and toxins (haemolysins, hyaluronidase, streptokinase, etc.).
