Atrial fibrillation (AF) is one of the 21st century epidemics. AF triggers often originate from the thoracic veins. AF ablation aims to electrically ‘disconnect’ the pulmonary veins (PVs) from

the rest of the left atrium by ablating around the origin of the veins, which include the PVs, the superior vena cava (SVC), and the ligament of Marshall together with the coronary sinus.
