ABSTRACT

Chronic pelvic pain (CPP) is a problem of significant magnitude. Up to 33% of female patients report having had CPP in their lifetime.1 A poll of 5263 women revealed that 14.7% complained of CPP. Within this group of individuals, 11% limited their home activity due to CPP, 11.9% limited their sexual activity, and 15.8% took medication for this problem.2 Chronic pelvic pain is the major indication for gynecologic laparoscopy in 15-40% of cases.3
