ABSTRACT
Cancer is not uncommon among younger women. In the United States, approximately 600 000 women are diagnosed with cancer every year, and one-tenth of these women are under the age of 40.1 Ninety per cent of teenage girls and young women diagnosed with cancer will survive,2 and it is estimated that by 2010, one in 250 adults will be a cancer survivor.3
