ABSTRACT

Congenital anomalies of the ureters are common. Ureteroceles and ectopic ureters are two such conditions. These conditions may be diagnosed either prenatally or postnatally, and may lead to hydronephrosis, a non-functioning upper pole renal unit, and/or complete renal non-function. This chapter discusses the etiology, diagnosis, and endoscopic and open surgical management options for ureteroceles and ectopic ureters.
