ABSTRACT

Introduction As of 1995 approximately 152 million men worldwide were estimated to have been afflicted with some degree of male sexual dysfunction. By the year 2025, that number is expected to climb to over 322 million men. 1 Sexual dysfunction is known to have an impact on men of all ages and freely crosses all cultural and national boundaries. 2 Given the vast global impact of the problem, a large-scale period of intense clinical investigation has been under way since the late 1970s. Presently, we are reaping the benefits of this work by way of an improved understanding of the normal and abnormal physiology of male sexual function.
