ABSTRACT
Pulmonary arteriovenous malformations are abnormal vessels in which there is a direct connection from the pulmonary arterial circulation to the pulmonary venous circulation without an intervening capillary bed. These abnormal communications have been given various names including pulmonary arteriovenous fistulas, pulmonary arteriovenous aneurysms, hemangiomas of the lung, pulmonary telangiectasias, pulmonary hamartomas, and pulmonary arteriovenous malformations.1-5
