ABSTRACT

Vessel Overlap, Foreshortening, and Ostial Lesions Vessel foreshortening and overlap are recognized imaging artifacts that result from the 2-D angiographic projection of 3D vascular structures (Fig. 18.1). The tortuosity of coronary artery segments present specific challenges in minimizing vessel foreshortening and angiographically separating adjacent structures. Historically, the LM coronary artery is difficult to image because of foreshortening and vessel overlap from the circumflex and LAD (6,23,24).
