H. Psychoeducational Family Therapy

The provision of information to families is not in and of itself systemic or relational and need not be the province of family therapists. Yet as it is family therapists who most often have direct contact with family members of those suffering from addictions or major mental health diagnoses, family therapists are often asked to convey information from other professionals to the family and are often asked by the family to give them information about how the system works or what their options are. Family therapists in schools have a similar experience.
