ABSTRACT

The success of the teaching-learning process in education depends on a combination of several factors, including planning, designing learning experiences, curriculum adaptation, assessment and defining educational objectives. One of the main aspects of all educational models or curricula is the specification of set of “descriptors” used to define competencies, select activities and produce and implement resources and assessment tools. These descriptors are known by several names, such as educational objectives, competencies, educational skills, learning products and learning goals. Despite the variety of names, they share the need for a common educational foundation based on a framework or taxonomy.
