ABSTRACT
Over the past decade, China’s growing seapower has consistently caused tension between China and established seapowers, and sometimes other rising seapowers as well. There has been widespread speculation about the nature of China’s rising seapower, including whether the shifting power between China and established seapowers will cause a major war, whether China will remake the international order by force with its newly developed seapower, and whether China’s claimed peaceful rise is even possible.
