The physiological effects of soccer training in elite youth soccer players
The participants completed 7-weeks of in-season soccer training. The daily training activities completed were classified as follows. Tactical training aimed to improve match understanding and decision making. Technical work was associated with the teaching and refinement of a skill. Physical training prioritised the improvement of physical fitness. Training games was training time involved in match play, whereas competitive match play was identified as competitive 11 aside league fixtures. The classification of training sessions was based upon discussions with the coach. No other additional training was completed by the participants.
