Physical and technical differences between single-gender vs. mixed-gender small-sided training exercises for elite female soccer players

Lactate concentration and RPE tended to be higher in the SSGmix. In the technical parameters, the biggest differences appeared in ‘touches per ball possession’, ‘time in ball possession’, and ‘% one-touch passes’, which suggests higher technical demand in the SSGmix than in the SSGfem. However, in the SSGmix, fewer ‘involvements with the ball’, ‘ball touches’, and ‘passes’ also were recorded (Table 1 and Figure 2).
