Sept. 23. 1726. Nathaniel Pigott (1661-1737), a Barrister at Law, lived at Whitton near
Twickenham, and it was evidently to his house that Pope was carried after the accident in which his coach was upset when crossing the river Crane on a dark night in September 1726.
