ABSTRACT
Environmental education provides a crucial example of how individuals can work together and support each other in achieving sustainable development. In this complex and inter-disciplinary area, teamwork is essential within and beyond the school if children are to be helped not only to grasp difficult ecological concepts, but, more importantly, to become active citizens, able to promote responsible attitudes and challenge political systems.
