ABSTRACT

Wendie Wildman, in Chapter 1, described her encounters with new colleagues and other adults. The new teachers I interviewed concentrated on learning the school procedures and getting to grips with the curriculum. They had all just finished doing Bachelor of Education degrees or Post Graduate Certificates at different institutions. All of them were anxious about getting things right and doing their best for the children in their charge. They were all emphatic that there was a great deal for them to learn.
