ABSTRACT
There are three main types of abnormal leisure: invasive, mephitic and wild (Rojek, 2000). Simply put, invasive leisure refers to forms of behaviour situated in leisure time that involve self-harm. The most common examples are alcohol and drug abuse. Mephitic leisure is a type of leisure conduct that involves doing harm to others. Examples include sexual harassment, physical, emotional and verbal aggression, hate crime, prostitution and mugging. Wild leisure consists of forms of illicit leisure practice that involve acts of opportunist behaviour. Examples include joy riding, looting, illegal downloading, illegal trading, hacking, street crime and trespass.
