Monitoring and evaluation

ByHeather Yaxley

Watson (2011) demonstrates evaluation has a long history with social science methods evident in the 1920s and 1930s. Indeed, he notes a full circle (with ‘new’ techniques echoing those in use almost a century ago) following decades of resistance by practitioners. The prevailing attitude has been that evaluation is difficult and the real measure of success is a happy client.
