In this chapter I will focus above all on those writings on which Schumpeter worked while he was in Graz or which were either published during that period or shortly afterwards. I will also make some brief comments on some of his other writings closely related to these. Such a constraint is only prudent, for Schumpeter’s complete works are so voluminous that an essay such as this cannot seriously cover them all; while it also coincides with what Schumpeter himself said of the third decade of a scholar’s life: it is ‘the decade of sacred fertility’.
