ABSTRACT

Imagine you are 3 years old and walking down the High Street with your mum, or even younger being pushed in a buggy. All around you in every shop, at eye level, are brightly coloured posters, notices, adverts and billboards proclaiming the goods on offer. Even the funeral parlour has FAMILY BUSINESS and PRIVATE CHAPEL OF REST displayed discretely alongside the pictures of bluebell glades and seascape sunsets. The world is a maze of printed matter: colourful, mesmerising.
