Crowcroft Park Primary School
Crowcroft Park is a county primary school for pupils aged 3 to 11 situated approximately two miles to the south-east of Manchester city centre. The school was built in 1935 and is located just off the main Manchester to Stockport road sandwiched between a small park and an area of terraced houses the majority of which are rented on short-term leases from private landlords. The majority of pupils are drawn from the Longsight Ward which has seen a steady inﬂux of families from the Indian subcontinent and in particular from Bangladesh and Pakistan; 42.5 per cent of the pupils have English as an additional language. The main ﬁrst languages of pupils in the school are English, Urdu, Bengali and Punjabi although many more languages and cultures are represented.
