How should current technologies be implemented in the design and technology curriculum?


The issues raised in this chapter will focus, primarily, on those concerned with the teaching of technology in UK secondary schools. Many issues will also be of interest to those concerned with science and technology in primary schools and initial teacher training in higher education. Considering these issues will help to focus on the nature of technology education and how it may be implemented in schools, so it is useful to begin by considering the original remit for the working group which first fashioned the National Curriculum subject of technology.
