Mexico’s archaeological heritage: a convergence and confrontation of interests

In Mexico, the debate over the significance, protection and management of the archaeological heritage is plagued by clichés. This would not be worthy of attention except for the fact that some of these clichés seem to have inspired fundamental aspects of the Mexican legislation that protects this heritage.
