ABSTRACT
The Griquas are one of the aboriginal South African tribes, known to have lived along the West Coast, neighbouring the Namaquas in the north and the Goringhaiqua in the south. Much later these tribes became known as the Khoisan, a combination of the word for the Khoi-khoin (‘Hottentots’), and the San (Bushmen).
