ABSTRACT
Income is a basic material resource which in all societies is more or less unequally distributed between individuals and households. Income inequalities are a potential source of other forms of inequalities, including socioeconomic inequalities in health. As income inequalities vary between countries and change over time, they may give rise to a widening or narrowing of health inequalities.
