ABSTRACT
The richness in the tales of the Arabian Nights, which included stories of Aladdin, Ali Baba and Sinbad, were brought back to Europe in the eighteenth century by travellers to the Middle East. These stories are as familiar to most European children as those about Cinderella and Hansel and Gretel, and yet there is almost no tradition of a special literature for children in the Arab World.
