ABSTRACT

Peartree School is a small Church of England Primary School serving a fairly tightly knit rural community in Oxfordshire. All its children are from Peartree village or its adjoining hamlet and outlying farms and cottages. In a larger or more urban school, some of them might be recommended for education in a special school, but at Peartree they learn alongside the other children from that village, as Patience Tuckwell describes.
