ABSTRACT

Wendy, 19 years old; father: maintenance fitter-engineer; mother: unemployed. ‘Ten years from now, I want to be a youth worker . . . I want to help kids who are homeless, kids who are on drugs. I hope that in ten years, there will be fewer problems, but, unfortunately, I can’t really see that happening. I doubt that I’ll be married yet, since preparing for my career will take a lot of work and time.
