ABSTRACT

BC is a 55-year-old woman who is married with three grown-up children and has been employed as a cleaner all her working life. She collapsed and was admitted to hospital. A CT scan carried out 2 days later revealed “An extensive haemorrhagic infarct with surrounding oedema, displacing the midline structure to the right. There was some pooling anteriorly in the sylvian fissure after contrast”. A left middle cerebral artery aneurysm was diagnosed and an operation was performed to clip the aneurysm and to remove the clot in the left temporal parietal region.
