Chapter 27 of Wild Wales (1862) includes a short description of a visit to the ruined castle above Beaumaris Bay in Anglesey, ‘a favourite residence of the celebrated Owain Gwynedd, the father of the yet more celebrated Madoc, the original discoverer of America’.
