ABSTRACT
The Anti-Jacobin, or Weekly Examiner included in its earlynumbers four very effective parodies of poems by Southey. In these the metres and ideas of Southey’s poems were cleverly ridiculed. In the first number Southey’s poem was also printed before the parody. Although this practice was not repeated in later numbers it has been followed here for each poem.
