ABSTRACT

Erromango is the largest island within the southern district of Vanuatu, known also as the TAFEA area (an acronym for the five constituent islands: Tanna, Aneityum, Futuna, Erromango and Aniwa). The islands of the TAFEA area extend between 180° 37’S and 200° 16’S. The island of Erromango, the main focus of this discussion, has an area of 902 square kilometres.
