ABSTRACT
In recent years there has been a notable increase in the application of the label humancentred to various types of system. Unfortunately this has resulted in some confusion about what constitutes a human-centred system. The label now seems to be applied to systems designed using the more conventional approach of the social science community and also to any system which has some characteristic that makes it more acceptable for people.
