ABSTRACT

Although subjective, improvement in the quality of life is important. Increased attendance and efficiency at school or work are important to the parent, teacher or employer as well as to the patient. There is no rationale for repeat skin testing to assess clinical effectiveness during immunotherapy, as skin tests may continue to be positive despite remission of symptoms. Repeat skin testing is helpful if the patient has developed new clinical sensitivities. Controlled sting challenges have been performed but they are not widely accepted.
