ABSTRACT

Intracoronary brachytherapy is a promising new therapy for the treatment of in-stent restenosis. Whether it may also prevent restenosis after balloon angioplasty for de novo or restenotic lesions will be known by the end of the year 2000, when the 6-month angiographical followup data of current ongoing trials will be available. Long-term clinical and angiographical follow-up is also necessary, to ensure long-term safety and efficacy.
