ABSTRACT
A lawyer acting on behalf of the woman later charged that better treatment after the first seizure would have prevented the second one and the fractures, and for good measure suggested that bodily violence against the patient by hospital staff might have caused the fractures. I learnt about the case when I was asked to give an expert opinion in the ensuing legal controversy.
