ABSTRACT

Although numerous Citrus species, varieties, cultivars and hybrids are grown for a variety of reasons, a few of the less common species are somewhat popular as a source of rare oils or as fruit. The species that will be discussed are as follows: Citrus aurantium L. var. myrtifolia Ker-Gawl (Chinotto), C. clementina Hort. ex Tanaka (clementine), C. grandis (L.) Osbeck (pummelo or shaddock), C. hystrix DC (combava), C. jambhiri Lush. (rough lemon), C. junos Sieb. ex Tanaka (yuzu), C. madurensis Lour. (calamandin), C. medica L. (citron etrog and fingered citron) and C. unshiu Marcovitch (mikan).
